Colorkeeper shows one color a day — the same one, for everyone, worked out entirely on your own device. Below are answers to the most common questions. If yours isn't here, the fastest way to reach a real person is the email at the bottom of this page.
Common questions
Why is today's color the one it is?
Today's color is calculated from the date itself, so it's the same for every Colorkeeper user in the world on any given day — no server picks it, no randomness, no network call. The day changes at UTC midnight for everyone at once.
Where do my notes and favorites go?
Nowhere but your device. Colorkeeper has no accounts and no backend — notes and favorites are stored locally, and shared only with the Colorkeeper widget through Apple's own on-device App Group mechanism.
Because nothing is backed up automatically, losing or resetting your phone means losing that data. Use Backup Notes inside the app to export a file you can save to Files, iCloud Drive, or AirDrop somewhere safe.
How do I add the widget?
Long-press an empty area of your Home Screen, tap the + in the corner, and search "Colorkeeper." A Lock Screen version is available too, though iOS tints Lock Screen widgets to a single color — the name and hex still show, just not the color itself.
What is the month-in-review?
Once a month, Colorkeeper puts together a short reflection on your notes — a color that stood out, and a written summary generated entirely on-device using Apple Intelligence where available. Nothing you've written is ever sent anywhere to produce it. Past reviews stay browsable in the app even after the notes behind them expire.
Do notes expire?
A note or favorite is kept for about 35 days from the last time you touched it — reopening or editing an old one resets that clock. This keeps the app light without deleting anything you're still actively engaging with.
